Borden Friendship Club 50+

The Borden Friendship Club 50+ is a vibrant, welcoming group focused on connection, activity, and community involvement. With more than 90 members, the club offers an active social calendar and a friendly place to gather, laugh, and stay engaged. Annual membership is just $15 per year, making it easy to take part.

When We Meet

  • Monthly meetings: 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m.
    (No meetings in July and August)

Staying Active & Connected

  • Forever in Motion classes are held 2–3 times per week and are free for anyone to attend.

  • Monthly potluck suppers feature entertainment and birthday cake, creating a relaxed and social atmosphere.

  • Winter activities include popular monthly bingo nights and Kaiser tournaments. Proceeds from bingo often help subsidize member outings, such as dinner theatre trips.

Fundraising & Community Support

  • Tea & Bake Sales are held twice a year:

    • Spring proceeds traditionally support Telemiracle

    • Fall proceeds are donated to a selected local organization

  • Each year, the club hosts and attends regional seniors’ gatherings, sharing meals and entertainment with neighbouring clubs.

The Borden Friendship Club is also deeply committed to giving back. Members contribute time and financial support to numerous local initiatives, including the Beautiful Beautification Committee, Fire Department, First Responders, Borden Care Home, Action Bowl, Busy Bees Preschool, Borden Community Center Preservation Committee, and Little Sprouts Day Care, among others. The club also sponsors children in Mombasa through SOS Children’s Villages, extending its impact well beyond the community.

Facility Rentals & Improvements

  • The Friendship Club Room is available to rent for community or family events, with reduced rates for members.

  • Grant funding has supported ongoing upgrades to the Friendship Room, as well as bus tours and entertainment for members.
