Streetlights
Streetlights
Street lighting within the Village is provided through SaskPower. The Village pays a monthly service fee per streetlight, which covers electricity usage and SaskPower’s service agreement. This is a standard utility model used across Saskatchewan and ensures lights are professionally maintained without requiring municipal electrical staff or equipment.
All maintenance, repairs, bulb replacements, and electrical servicing are the responsibility of SaskPower. The Village does not maintain or repair streetlights directly.
The installation of new streetlights is a significant capital expense. As of 2025 pricing, the cost to install one new streetlight is approximately $7,000, which includes materials, labour, and connection to SaskPower infrastructure.
Have a Streetlight Problem?
If you notice a streetlight that is out, flickering, damaged, or not functioning properly, you have two options:
-
Report it directly to SaskPower
Call 1-888-757-6937 or report it online here. -
Or contact the Village Office
We are happy to submit the service request to SaskPower on your behalf.
Reporting directly to SaskPower may result in faster response times, but both options are available for your convenience.
