Borden Housing Authority
The Borden Housing Authority (BHA) was established in 1983 to meet the need for affordable senior housing (55+) in the Village of Borden. The program is a cost-shared partnership between the Federal, Provincial, and Local Governments and provides safe, well-maintained housing for low-income seniors within the community.
Housing Overview

Originally developed in 1983 with six self-contained one-bedroom units

Expanded in 1989 with the construction of Idylwyld Court, a low-rise building offering:

Two (2) self-contained two-bedroom suites

Four (4) self-contained one-bedroom suites

Two suites designed for accessible living

A one-bedroom relocatable unit was added in 2002 to address increasing demand

A common room is available for tenant social activities

All units are continually upgraded and well maintained
Rent & Inclusions

Rent is calculated at 30% of gross monthly income

Minimum rent: $326 per month

Governance
The Borden Housing Authority is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors appointed through a provincial ministerial order. The Board is responsible for policy direction, oversight, and ensuring the fair and efficient administration of housing programs.
Board responsibilities include:

Employing a Caretaker to manage upkeep and maintenance
